Dear Muse:

Why is it, that when I am halfway through writing a story you suddenly bite me on the ass with a different idea altogether? I mean, at first we were exploring why Kavanagh would be dialing Atlantis with the SOS code as a sort of "prequel" to Will You Pay? because that's a pretty dark and awesome story to tell. But in the middle of all that I scroll back a half page only to realize that we've been writing about Teyla and why the Wraith might want and/or crave having a Queen. What the hell, Muse!

Not that I'm not enjoying the turn of events cause this new idea is pretty sweet. But since I'm missing sleep to be writing in the first place I'd kind of like to finish what we had originally started.

Sincerely,
Your Much Confused Writer

Title: Will you pay?
Fandom: Stargate Atlantis
Rating: PG
Characters: John Sheppard, Samantha Carter, Kavanagh, Chuck
Notes: This was written for sga_saturday's Week #52: Amnesty challenge for Week #13: Rebel. Set in the early part of Season 4, because I believe that by mid-season 4 Carter would have understood. The story can found HERE on the original comm. There is now a companion piece: Tomorrow's a Gift.

Summary: That IDC, when used, was a plea for sanctuary, safety, and home. For those in the city when it was used, that IDC was a call to arms

So right now I'm sitting down with a rather bland blend of herbal green tea trying to save the world. What could possibly be threatening the world at this time that would make bland tea an acceptable beverage, you ask? Simple really - my mother's ancient (going on 8 years now) computer refuses to access the Internet when it has been commanded to. My mother is about really to blow up in apocalyptic rage the likes of which I haven't witnessed since that one time in high school where I "disappeared" for nearly fourteen hours.

Unfortunately I don't think there is anything I can do to fix the Internet connection problem she's currently having. The wireless works great (as evidenced by this post sent via wifi from my iPhone) and the Ethernet connection works just fine on the laptop too (which is also wifi capable).

So, dear world, if in the next hour or so the earth begins to shake under your feet and the wind begins to blow hot and fiery across the land, skies darkening while the oceans and rivers boil away - I apologize. But there was nothis more I could do to save you.

So I didn't manage to finish my snp_j2_bigbang story on time. But I have made a dent in it! I'm up to 8K words now! Not close to being finished, but I am still writing it.

But now to go and close the signups for the sgu_challenge big bang.

The Hunger Games was an amazing movie. They did an excellent job translating the book onto the screen. I laughed and cried in all the right places and am going back to see it again soon (going with my dad and then a third time with my friend).

If I thought I could do the character voices justice I'd be writing fic for this movie and the books.

Honestly, if you get the chance to see this movie take it with both hands.

Lined up for opening day of The Hunger Games. Not too many people here yet but we still have and hour and twenty minutes for the first showing of the movie in my end of the city.

Some of the people lined up look like they should be attending class in high school right now. I wonder how many classes will have absent students who skipped to see the movie ASAP?

Dear Muse:

We need to stop tweaking with the outline. It's detailed enough. We know the important scenes that must happen in the story. We know which characters will make appearances in these important scenes. Nitpicking to the point of detailing each and every little interlude and transitional scene is ridiculous and I simply will not stand for it.

If this means we stop writing the spn_j2_bigbang until you can stop being an obsessive bitch then that's what we are going to do! This story is supposed to be fun and entertaining. It does not have to exact in every detail! That's what time stamps and comment fic are for! To fill in the gaps! To tell readers about the itty bitty points of political posturing that we currently do not have time for!

We have a deadline! I demand that you respect it!

Sincerely,
Your Slowly Balding Slave

Dear Muse:

You really need to stop perv'ing on Spock/Uhura fic. We have the spn_j2_bigbang to complete.

We can contemplate a new fandom and the slippery slide into a new obsession
after we have written and posted the twisted plot we have created. It is a good story we outlined. The idea is solid and will only get better once it's been written and edited and beta'ed.

So
please stick to the plan. We only have another 23K words to go!

Sincerely,
Your Desperate Slave
