Still haven't gone to see The Dark Knight Rises, yet. But that has more to do with the fact that my local theater (a 12 minute walk away) has 4 screens showing this movie, and if I want to get in to see the movie I need to buy my tickets the day before (or show up at opening to buy tickets for an afternoon/evening showing of the movie). I don't particularly want to sit in a full theater to see this movie when I am constantly plagued with movie talkers, boys who try to get lucky in a full theater (in the row ahead of me), and cursed seat kickers. So, I'll have to wait a little longer before I go watch it.
I also went to see Magic Mike a few weeks ago. It was an interesting movie and focused a lot on characters to push forward the plot. I really kind of liked it, even when some of the dialog was a little awkward in places. But that just made it seem more real. I mean, no one actually talks the way writers write dialog for books and stories. People rarely speak in complete or grammatically correct sentences. And that was the dialog - real, honest, speech.
And I have nothing else to add, except that I am once more back on the stop-smoking patch. Two days now, and I think I'm going to bite my tongue off... or maybe chew through my lips. Gum ain't cutting it, the patch is helping but not enough. But I'm fighting to make it five days. If I can make it five days my pharmacist, doctor, and the stop-smoking guides all tell me that the worst will be behind me. I don't know how much I believe that, but fuck, I want to see if it's true.
